When the New York Giants hired Nick Mangold to design their new stadium, it was expected to take more than a decade. Now, the stadium is up and running, and Mangold is getting ready to take the reins on designing a new venue for the Giants.
Posted October 01, 2018 07:23:38 The Giants have moved forward with the stadium plan, and the team has a new design firm to design its new home, according to multiple sources familiar with the plans.
The new firm, called Mangold, is expected to begin designing the venue’s exterior and interior within the next few months, one of the sources said.
Mangold previously worked with the Jets, Vikings, Giants and Cowboys.
A spokesperson for the team declined to comment.
The Giants, who will play their first regular-season game at AT&T Park on Sept. 5, are in the midst of designing their new home.
The stadium is designed to be a large, open space with an expansive roof and a large stadium in the center of it.
It will include a retractable roof for fans to enjoy views from the stadium’s roof.
The new stadium will feature a large scoreboard, as well as a retracting roof to provide views from within the stadium.
The stadium is expected be completed by 2020, with the first home game scheduled for 2018.
The Giants are also expected to move into a larger stadium in 2019.
